About
A small editorial team in Seattle.
MJ Travel Gurus started as a notebook. A few of us — former agency travel-desk staff, a couple of part-time pilots, one ex-airline-IT person — kept a shared document of fare-research notes for friends and family. It grew. We turned it into a public site.
We're not an Online Travel Agency. We're not a ticket reseller. We're not a metasearch with a live API plugged into a hundred suppliers. We're an independent editorial brand that tracks how the fare market moves and points readers to the right place to actually book — usually the carrier's own site.
MJ Travel Gurus is a trade name operated by a small editorial team based in Seattle, WA. We are not an Online Travel Agency, ticket reseller, or booking platform.
How we research fares
- We watch published fares across major U.S. and international carriers across a rolling 60-day window for the routes we cover.
- We cross-reference each carrier's own page for cabin definitions, baggage allowances, and fare-rule small print before publishing.
- When we link out to a partner site (Kayak, Skyscanner), we choose the partner that consistently surfaces the carrier's own ticket — not a hidden-fee reseller.
- We refresh fare snapshots daily and re-edit our destination and airline guides at least quarterly.
What we don't do
- · We don't sell airline tickets.
- · We don't process payments or hold any card data.
- · We don't store passenger details, passport numbers, or itineraries.
- · We don't partner exclusively with a single airline or alliance.
- · We don't accept paid placement in our destination, airline or tips coverage.
